Managing DNS and Nameservers
Subtitle: Connecting your domain to hosting and services

This article explains how to manage DNS records and nameservers for your domain through the Ace Intl Media client portal.

1. What DNS and Nameservers Do
DNS (Domain Name System) controls how your domain connects to services such as:

  • Websites

  • Email

  • Hosting servers

  • Third-party platforms

Nameservers tell the internet where to look for your domain’s DNS records.

2. Viewing DNS Settings
To view DNS settings:

  1. Log in to the client portal

  2. Go to Domains

  3. Select your domain name

  4. Open DNS Management or Nameservers

The options available depend on the domain extension and service configuration.

3. Changing Nameservers
You may need to change nameservers if:

  • You connect the domain to hosting

  • You use external DNS providers

  • You move services between platforms

To change nameservers:

  1. Select Custom Nameservers

  2. Enter the provided nameserver addresses

  3. Save changes

Changes may take time to propagate globally.

4. Managing DNS Records
Common DNS records include:

  • A Record – Points the domain to an IP address

  • CNAME – Points a domain or subdomain to another domain

  • MX Record – Controls email delivery

  • TXT Record – Used for verification and security settings

Always double-check values before saving changes.

5. DNS Propagation Time
After making DNS changes:

  • Updates may take up to 24–48 hours to propagate

  • Some changes appear sooner

  • During propagation, services may behave inconsistently

This is normal and temporary.

6. Avoiding Common Issues
To prevent problems:

  • Do not delete existing records unless instructed

  • Keep a record of previous DNS settings

  • Make changes one at a time

  • Contact support if unsure

Incorrect DNS changes can affect website or email availability.

7. Getting Help with DNS
If you need assistance:

  • Open a support ticket in the client portal

  • Include the domain name

  • Specify the change you want to make

Support can guide you or apply changes where required.
